Back to the Grind

We have been on the road. First to Florida for a fun vacation...and folks it was a blast we really didn't want to come home...but Scrawny Neck was homesick...sooooo we felt it was in his best interest that we come home.....we had a couple of fun gigs in Dothan ...so we decided Florida was not so far away. We took another quickie vacation to a small sleepy little town in the panhandle....Port St Joe.....and was it small....there was no place to eat breakfast and only one or two real eateries in the whole town......we stayed at a small motel (50's style) called the Dixie Bell Motel ...run by two really sweet folks Dan and Michelle.....Dan likes fishing and told us all the good places to catch the big ones and Michelle sells Avon....nuff' said.....anyway we had fun.....best of both worlds beaches on the bay and beaches on the gulf....fun...fun...fun....we got home on Sunday ...and back on the road again Monday with a fast and furious trip to Nashville for work.....now things seem to have calmed a bit and it's back to the routine here in Sheffield. Steve.....are you ready for lunch and a nap?

Homeward Bound - Whoopee Sh*t

No, this isn't Scrawny Neck, it's Katphish Katphish (the late). But if it WERE Scrawny Neck, this would be his expression after a couple of weeks knocking around Florida in his cat-carrier. Every time sheri would call for him, Scrawny's eyes would bug out! This is a little video from the first half of our trip back to Sherfield from South Florida. The Florida Turnpike staff are nice people, but they treat you like a criminal if you try to give them a $100 dollar bill to pay your toll with. This is America, isn;t it? Legal tender for all debts public and private... Right? Sheesh... This video doesn't comtain much drama, however, the next day (will will get posted later) gets pretty weird.

A Zoo is a Zoo...except in Florida!

Well it's my turn to give y'all updates on our trip to sunny Florida. Steve and I went to the zoo this past Sunday...here in West Palm Beach...now like everything down here this zoo is kind funky and jungle like....but gotta tell ya ... it was fun...fun...fun!

We visited with all kinds of birds native to Florida and some not so native...we saw bears...Steve even compared himself to several!!!! We saw the rare Florida Panther and the cutest little jaguar....no silly not the car the cat.... We even fed a peacock....enough talking... Steve has an awesome video of every animal we visited ...even the lonely prairie dog...who by the way was wound way too tight....all in all the zoo was fun...just not as fun as the beach......give me an amen....Da Beach!!!!

Ohhhh.....I almost forgot...they had gators....a great big ole white one and guess where he came from??? Louisiana....his name was Marty....and he had freckles on his nose....I told him he was a little pale and he needed to spend a little time on the beach....he just went back to sleep...oh well..he doesn't know what he's missing!!!

Found An Old landmark

Yesterday, Sheri and I decided to do a little cruising around The Palm Beaches. Lo and behold, we wound up in Royal Palm Beach near the former home of Brother John. Here's some shaky video.

A Cat's Eye

Well we are in West Palm Beach.....we have been to Orlando....we have been to Tallahassee....we have been to Coco Beach.....and all I have seen is the inside of a cat taxi.....hell when we were in Orlando ....the idiots (Sheri and Steve)....poured water all over me and left me there for at least an hour....I smelled like a bloomin' dog by the time they finally let me outta that box......

The room is radically cool here in West Palm Beach....I pretty much have the run of the place... they go out a lot....(The humans...Sheri and Steve)...and that's OK in my book....they feed me good ...lots to drink and the fishes are to die for! I have a couple of fluffy little foo foo toys to play with...(I'd rather drink outta the toilet though....and a real mouse would be nice)...I think there is one named Mickey somewhere around here....how would I know they never let me out to see for myself....

Steve and Sheri seem to be having a ball...shopping...eating at fancy places....the beach...the piers..fishing..I think I heard Steve was even in a conga line (now that would be a sight to see!)....they appear to be having fun too...just so long as they don't put gray ass back in the box...this trip really rocks!

Florida Vacation Update - We Have Arrived!

OK... Well Sheri and I got to The Palm Beaches in one piece. Scrawny Neck survived intact. The weather on this second leg was spotty, but it's not raining now, and looks like the sky's starting to clear. West Palm Beach... here we come

We got off to a good start ...the drive to Tallahassee was rainy most of the way...when we hit Florida, the sun jumped out...(they don't call it "The Sunshine State" fer nothin')....Steve has been playing with is hand held video cam all the way down here....He videoed the car....He videoed the rain...he videoed me...he videoed the cat...but most of all.....He videoed his favorite subject...He videoed Himself..(smile, smile..wink, wink!) No joke though...we are having a lovely trip! As we speak Steve is busy editing his mini-movies ...I think there are three total....Please bear with us as we play with this new hand held baby camera...We are having fun and looking forward to a great vacation in the sand and the sun....who knows...once we get the sand between our toes and the tropical breeze in our hair...and some fancy boat drink...we never come home....Charles make friends with Poppy...he may become your baby.

Almost finished packing!

Everything is packed and ready to load into the car tomorrow morning for our departure. Looking forward to my old stomping grounds. Don't know if we'll see anybody I know, but that's OK... Sheri and I are pretending that this is a first time experience. Sometimes its a good thing to look at a familiar place, through the "old memory filter." Then you get to see a place as it is in the present, not colored by what it was.

Fun in the Sun

Well....we have finally done it...we have entered the world of "The Blogger"....I hope Steve and I are up to the challenge. Now ... What to write about?

I know... I know... We are going on a well deserved vacation....we are headed to South Florida for 2 amazing and (hopefully) rest-filled weeks....we do have to hop up to Orlando for 3 video shoots....this should be fun. And will help us stay in the working mode.

Another fun tidbit...we are taking the infamous Scrawny Neck with us on this trip...He will hate us for it I know but in the long run he will Thank Us for not leaving him alone. When we get back from West Palm Beach ...I'm sure Steve will be dying to tell you all about the really neat things we did there.
